As promised - here's a bit on the Shatt al-Arab boundary. As I may have stated early, there is no official agreed upon boundary, and the somewhat-kind-of-not-really line that supposedly exists is from 1975; which, as anyone who has ever read a nautical chart will tell you, is so grossly outdated that it is completely useless becuase the entire geography of that area has changed- waterlevels, mudflats, soil, markers, the works.
Industry papers and soforth are usually a bit slow to comment - there will be a good article in the next week or two - but for now, i'll link you guys to this article from the beeb, which is always really good about getting shit together quickly and accurately.
