And that's the way I like it

Goodness... so much going on to blog about that it's almost overwhelming. The temptation, my dears, to itemize this post is friggin OVERWHELMING but I will try and resist for your sake.

In world events, of course, there is always a lot to talk about but it certainly has not been a slow week. The whole Blackwater controversy is heating up- there are new reports about weapons smuggling but they ARE working in Iraq again, Ahmadinejad (who has a blog, wouldn't you know!) wants to visit Ground Zero, Burmese monks are kicking political ass and taking names, Lebanon is dealing with the death of yet another person who was trying to better his country (an Anti-Syrian MP) - i wouldnt doubt it at all if it was by the same people who were responsible for Hariri's death, the Beeb is reporting on Israel's air strikes against Syria, and Castro is looking good.

On a school-wide level, soccer season started, the week is over, and senioritis is kicking in. September seems to be a pretty birthday intensive month - I think ive personally been invited to at least 6 get-togethers and heard about a dozen more. More than a few professors were out at conferences this friday, so i wound up having only one class - history - which was just fine with me.

Tomorrow (Saturday) is Yom Kippur, and in addition to fasting, im heading down to Davis with a few shipmates to attend services there, and then we'll be breaking the fast with AEPi. Should be interesting - I can count the number of times i've been in Davis on one hand, and both those times were to go Salsa dancing at the Grad. And it was night, and I was probably drunk, so you see how well I know the area. At any rate, Its nice to be able to go to high holy day services with friends - they dont tell you to quit fidgeting like your mother does, and commiserate with you about the fact that they dont know the same melodies you do. If you happen to be fasting, I hope you have an easy fast.

On the knitting front, I finished that purple monkey sock - now, to start the second! The second is always the hardest, I hear, but I cant quite figure out that two socks at once concept. It's a bit scary.

Oh shit. Just realized i left my laundry.

Ah, better. Guess who washed their stitch markers? Oh yes, that would be me!
