I cant believe it's been almost a month since I last blogged - im so bad with these things! It's been an extremely busy month for me; i''ve had a huge number of exams and papers and thesis deadlines which have been kicking my ass, on top of everything else. My dad always calls me the social butterfly of the family which is probably true.
My dear friends Carrie and Braille got married, and the ceremony was beautiful. Id forgotten how much I really miss my friends from home. It's wierd to think that at our age everyone is getting hitched but I suppose thats just the way of things - everyone is getting married and having kids! This is both awesome and a bit scary; im not sure how to deal with the fact that everyone around me's biological clock is ticking and mine is not. I dont really want to get married and have kids just yet - im way to young for that sort of responsibility!
Maybe its just the panic of senior year. I have a lot of friends who never went to college, or didnt finish college (or high school) and their lives seem to all end up pretty similar: minimum wage jobs, kids/marriage. Im so worried about graduation and getting a job when im finished here at the academy that all that 'settling down' stuff is, well, way too far off in the future for my mind to deal with. Maternal behaviours aside (have you all been eating well? This is my constant worry for everyone I know, it seems), naturlich.
This whole Cosco Busan thing is HUGE in the bay area; they say its worse than the Exxon Valdez, but I dunno. They used our bridge simulation center to recreate the brush on Delta-echo, and im sure that they will use our library for the legal case like they did for the Valdez case. I should be very interested in it but realistically speaking i am much more focused on my thesis work.
Of course, my red sox won the world series, we've resigned Mike Lowell, and life is beautiful in Boston until next season when we begin our ritualistic fatality. Hockey season is going excellently - the Habs are kicking ass and taking names and I am so so so happy with their performance lately.
As you guys may know, my boyfriend deployed earlier this month, which is what it is. Im dealing with it okay - some days it sucks, some days im fine. Im working on care packages like a madwoman. Really, who doesnt like chocolate chip cookies?
Almost done with Monkey sock number 2, by which i mean I am working on the gusset and in my mind that is half done. WOOO progress.
