well thats done.

A shitty end to a shitty season.

Bruins sweep the Habs and we're out of the playoffs, a glorious end to our centennial. Way to go, guys. There were a couple of you that carried the team as far as you could, but the rest? Damn, did you disappoint.

I am going to have to put up with SO MUCH smack-talk at work this week. Please, lord, let the Bruins be defeated quickly!

Thank goodness for baseball season otherwise i'd be miserable until october.

Priorities

okay, so I still haven't done that paper but I did finish about half of my sock! I am about 30 rows from being done now, so thats pretty exciting. Maybe I can finish it this morning and then actually get some work done. That'd be nice, eh?

Yesterday was a big day for birthdays - happy birthday to my girl Alicia, my boy Andy, and my sister Sheryn. YALL ARE OLD =D

PLAYOFFS START TODAY YOU GUYS I AM SO EXCITED!!!!!

What i'm saying here, guys, is that I think we all know who i'm rooting for, and who you should be rooting for too. This is not a hard choice. If you need further persuasion (which you shouldnt, I mean, have you seen our boys play this year?), check out 4 Habs Fans and Le Montréaliste.

Frozen Four is tomorrow (!!!) One of my favourite things to watch. Notre Dame is making their debut appearance this year but as ALWAYS I am rooting for the UND Fighting Sioux. Lets go North Dakota!!!). All the Parise boys went to UND and oh damn have I enjoyed watching 'em. Lets kick some ass, boys!

Things are heating up

I'll bite. The Caps have grown on me this season and i'm glad to see them in the playoffs - they deserve it. Lucky for me, my boys are seeded and i have't been stressing over making the playoffs too much - just finishing the regular season well.

Habs fans don't have high hopes for the playoffs, we have high expectations. Maybe its fucked up, but it's the way we are. It's ingrained - so no celebrating just yet. We got plenty of work to do.

On the subject of the Caps/Lightening matchup yesterday, though, i'll be honest. I wish both of them had made it to the playoffs because I just plain enjoy Tampa Bay. Torts gets angry quick and he may have been out of line with his screaming, but he was justifiably upset. Im surprised the guy hasnt had 600 coronaries yet. Martin St Louis looked like he was about to cry during the post game interview and I just wanted to hold him and give him cookies and tell him everything was gonna be okay. Poor thing. And man, I hope Vinny's okay - he's gonna miss the last game of the season and i'll bet he isnt happy about it.

Good luck to everyone who is a hab in the playoffs!

Drastic times....

Dear Calgary Flames,

Drastic times call for drastic measures. This whole losing - nay, being slaughtered wholesale - during playoffs business is simply not going to fly, Calgary. Sure, it was what, one game? But it was an IMPORTANT one.

I, for one, am completely different in my approach to sport than I am with other things. I am an emotional and a superstitious sports fan, especially when it comes to hockey, and as I am sure you are aare of, there are some traditions which, under penalty of hellfire and damnation, thou shallt not fuck with. Such a thing is luck.

When it's good, you don't do a damn thing different. You follow the exact same procedures which enabled you to do the winning thing. If this means a bacon cheesesteak for breakfast, well, so be it. Somebody is doing something different. FIX IT, FOO.

Time to change the luck.

I expect to see you all playing your damn guts out on Sunday,
Moose.
